Happy Halloween!

Hello everyone ^_^/

How are you all enjoying the Halloween weekend? I am sure you're all having fun hehehe

Although I didn't manage to do any Halloween manicures due to my injury I am going to share some Halloween nail sets that I made for my etsy store instead ^_^

I used all sorts of nail polishes, rhinestones, glitters and decals and it was so much fun working on these.
I just wish I could do something on  my nails too as I had so many ideas.

Still it was great fun seeing all the Halloween manicures you guys shared on your blogs too ^_^

the Greek files #2

Hello everyone ^_^/

Today I have the second instalment of the Greek files and I will present to you some nail polishes from a very well known Greek brand, Korres.

Their nail polish colour collection is very basic but it is readily available in many pharmacies around Greece so I picked a few colours to present to you.

I tried to cover a variety of colours so I have a red, a purple and three pinks.
All the colours are cremes and for the swatches I used two coats of each.

For the polish names just click on the photos to make them larger. The formula is very easy to use and I like the finish. I hope they will enrich their collection with more colours and finishes.

Do you have Korres where you live? What is your opinion of this brand?

Deco class in Tokyo

Hello everyone ^_^/

today is a national holiday here so I spent my day swatching for future blog posts. Instead of that though today I will share something from my trip in Tokyo. My deco class with the lovely Kotone-san from 310carat in Ueno.

As I spent quite some time in Tokyo this summer, I thought it would be a good idea to get together with an experienced deco professional and learn some tips and tricks that I didn't know so I can improve my deco skills.

So with the help of my friend Kaoru we arranged a deco class. As I am not a begginer I was mostly interested in seeing how a professional works and learn some secrets of the trade so to say.

The whole experience was great fun and I got great tips on what products to use (i.e. what is the best glue) and how to lay out supplies while working ^_^

Here are a few photos of what took place.

If you want to deco a whole phone case, you will need a lot of supplies.

Kotone-san showing me her awesome decoden skills.

 Working on deco seals.

Kotone-san had minx done on her nails so I had to take a pic to share with fellow nail enthusiasts.

 Our finished products.

If you like deco and you would like to bling up your phones or just get your hands on some cute deco accessories, take a look at my etsy and zibbet stores. I also accept custom requests ^_^

China Glaze Kaleidoscope holos

Hello everyone ^_^/

Another weekend is coming to a close. I hope you all had fun.

A couple of days ago my dear friend T-san came to hang out. As always we talk nails and check all the latest trends and designs together. So it's not wonder that my holo mania has passed on to her as well.

So I gave her a holographic manicure using China Glaze Octa Gone Wild and Kaleidoscope Him Out from the Kaleidoscope collection. Each colour is two coats without top coat.

The result was breathtaking as you can see.

Here is a super zoom in to see the colours better.

The purple holo is Octa Gone Wild and the blue one is Kaleidoscope Him Out.

Do you have any of these colours? What is your opinion?

Duochrome Holographic Nails

Hello everyone ^_^/

wow, it's almost the weekend already. Another week just flew by.
My plan was to post this on Tuesday but I guess that didn't work out as planned.

Here is a duochrome holographic mani with Glitter Gal's purple holographic and Sally Hansen's prisms in a pink unidentified colour, both sent to me by the lovely 'Chelle in our recent swap ^_^

Both colours are two coats with a layer of Seche on top. See how shiny and colourful my nails are?

And here are the individual colours with the polishes for reference.

I am absolutely loving both of these colours. I think I am going through a major holo phase and I just can't stop staring at my nails. I am still wearing this mani and almost a week later it still looks fantastic (and getting a lot of compliments).

the Greek files #1

Hello everyone ^_^/

I hope you all had a good start of the week.
Today is a day of new beginnings for some people very dear to me and I wish them all the best with all my heart.
So I will start a new feature in this blog too.

The Greek files. Through this feature I will present to you nail polishes that are available in Greece and I haven't seen a lot in other blogs. They might be Greek brands or other brands that I have discovered while browsing various stores around here.

So for the first instalment I will present to you a couple of lilacs (Adamo 86 and Erre Due 228) and compare them to other brands to see the difference. These are the polishes I am going to compare.

From left to right we have Eyeko lilac, Etude House PP901, Erre Due 228, Adamo 86 and OPI Do you Lilac It?

As my hand is still injured I used a nail wheel for the comparison. All the polishes are two coats without top coat under natural light and are applied in the same order as the bottles.

The colours look very similar in the bottles but they are completely different when applied on the nail wheel.
Eyeko, Etude House and Erre Due look quite similar, Adamo is more to the grey side while OPI is the more intense one.

What do you think of these polishes?
I hope you enjoyed this new feature :)

Yay, another polish swap

Hello everyone ^_^/

Today I wanna show you something exciting that arrived yesterday. A package full of nail polishes, as I had a second swap with the lovely 'Chelle from  Cosmetic Cupcake. 'Chelle is one of my dearest friends, who I met through a mutual love for nail polish and it's always a pleasure to swap with her as our tastes are so similar ^_^

Here is an overview of the package contents

Thank goodness I managed to snap this photo before my darling attacked all the sweets (I had to hide some of them so that he won't eat them all at once).

And here are some close ups at the lovely polishes that were inside.

Rimmel Lasting Finish in 270 Hot Shot, 030 Double Decker Red, 239 Your Majesty, 275 Electric!, 198 Azure

Maybelline mini Colorama in 67 Wonder Violet and 3 Tutti Fruitti, a lovely shade of Sally Hansen's Nail Prisms (I've been dying to try these ^_^) and a taupe from Butter London.

Essie Apricot cuticle oil, Glitter Gal purple holographic polish, Ulta 3 in Black Plum and Bouquet.

Thank you so much my dearest friend for all these lovely goodies. Now I need to decide which one to try out first XD

Btw guys I am planning to present more nail polishes that are available in Greece in this blog. I was thinking it would be a nice weekly feature. What do you think?

Also if anyone would like some polishes that are available here, I am always open to more swaps as it's so much fun! Just drop me an email ^_^

Bridal nails and makeup

Hello everyone ^_^/

or rather, good morning as it's half seven in the morning here.
And yes, I haven't slept yet. You see darling and me had our 1 year wedding anniversary yesterday.
And we spent the whole night partying ofc. So now I am still so hyper and I cannot sleep.

Instead I will share with you my bridal nails and make up. Yayyyyyy!!!

As every bride I was very excited on deciding how my hair, make up and nails would be. I bought a few fake nail sets from Japan and kept trying them on and on, trying to figure out which one to use.

The winner was this lovely hand painted nail set from Yuzu Nail that I bought in MaruiOne.

I applied them at the very last minute using nail tape and I am so happy I chose them. This photo was from when I first bought them as now they are flying around somewhere in the house and I need to locate them (I swear half of my things are MIA since we moved).

As for my make up I did not want something subtle but I wanted to go all the way. Being a dark chick who likes gothic looks since I was a kid I decided that it should show at least in my make up (as Greece is too traditional for brides to be able to wear let's say dark or medieval wedding gowns without the parents having multiple heart attacks). So we used purple shades, lots of purple glitter and Shu Uemura eyelashes with dark Swarovski crystals.

I also got this lovely tiara from acpetrille's etsy shop .

It was such a crazy day and I don't remember much but looking back at the photos I am pleased with how everything turned out. Still I am glad it's over XD (you can tell I am not one of the girls who dream of getting married since they were kids).

And I am gonna close this post with a bonus shot of me trying to put on my nails before leaving the house to get married. It was insane I tell you, insane!

Japan haul pt1, TiNs & Jill Stuart

Hello everyone ^_^/

I hope you all had a nice weekend.
Today I will show you some of the polishes I have brought home from Japan.

First off, one of my favourite brands, TiNS.

This brand can be found mostly in Japan and maybe a few other Asian countries and it has some of the prettiest glitters I have ever seen. Excellent on it's own but also perfect for layering and gradation manicures. Here are the colours I got, swatched on a nail wheel, two coats each.

From left to right
023 the Neptune, 064 the Immediately Sexy, 034 the Holiday Cheer, 036 the Exotic Lotus, 058 the Frozen Style Icon

The second brand I will share today is Jill Stuart.

Jill Stuart cosmetics have become insanely popular in Japan lately and this includes the nail polish line as well. The most impressive thing about these polishes are the lovely bottles. The colours are quite subtle and unfortunately the details are impossible to capture on camera. As you can see, three of the four colours look almost the same in the pic but believe me they are not. These polishes are great for work or a subtle look like a french manicure with a bit of sparkle. Two coats each.

From left to right the colours are
46 Shiny Prism, 44 Sweet Venus, 17 Purple Rain, 22 Misty Flash

What do you think about these colours? Are you interested in hard to find nail polishes?
If so check out my Big in Japan Giveaway for a chance to win some hard to find nail polishes from Japan. Open until October 15 ^_^

Zoya Edyta & Konading

Hello everyone ^_^/

It's 6 am over here and I am still unable to go to sleep. So I decided to share my latest favourite nail colour with you all instead.

It's Zoya Edyta. I have been seeing swatches of this beauty all over the blogosphere so I decided it needed to be  on my nails asap. Can I say I'm in love? A dark lovely colour with golden shimmer which look fabulous after just two coats. Added a coat of Seche for extra shine.

After wearing it for a couple of days I decided to spice it up a bit with some nail stamping. Using China Glaze 2030 and Konad plate m61 I added these lovely flower designs.

I think the colours worked really well together, what do you think?

Eyeko Lilac

Hello everyone ^_^/

I hope you all had a fun weekend!
Today I will share with you a nail colour that I got a while ago.
Eyeko Lilac.

I got quite a few Eyeko colours that I am gonna swatch soon but this is definitely my favoutie. It's 2 coats over base coat and as you can see it is fully opaque.
An added bonus is the cute bottle.

I want to add more photos to the post but blogger keeps crashing on me and I cannot. Still you can see this lovely colour quite well on the above pic, I'm sure ^_^

If you would like to get your hands on some Eyeko products you can do so following the link on the left sidebar. If you order more than $15 you get a free gift too!

China Glaze Halloween

Hello everyone ^_^/

Wow, it's Friday already and yay October is here.
This means fall is here full on. I love fall and in Greece we usually feel it around October as September is still quite warm. I love autumn as it means it is the end of the horrible summer with heat and stickiness and we can finally have bearable temperatures and dress nicely.

Thank you so much to everyone for your support with my little hand accident. The situation remains mostly unchanged but I decided to ignore the pain and change my manicure today anyway.

And as October is Halloween month I decided it was time I tried a couple of the China Glaze Awakening polishes. My choices: Mummy May I and Zombie Zest. For the record I want to say I usually hate greens. But Zombie Zest is one of the best nail polish colours I have ever seen. Now I understand why many nail fanatics were ecstatic about this colour. You have to see it in person to understand the awesomeness.

I used Anna Sui base coat, then 3 coats of polish and a coat of China Glaze Fast Forward top coat.

I am showing you the left hand (minus the battered finger XD). On the right hand I did the exact opposite, used Mummy May I for the index finger and Zombie Zest for the rest.

Please excuse the quality of the mani and the pics, there is so much I can do in this situation.
Also if you haven't already, take a look at my giveaway on the sidebar and enter. It ends on October 15. And make sure to join the other giveaways I have listed, all of them are great ^_^
