My nails for Christmas day

Hello everyone ^_^/

Wow, I cannot believe it has been a week already since my last post. I've been meaning to post this much sooner but somehow I didn't find the time. Oh, well, better late than never, right?

So this is the manicure I had on for Christmas day.

The main polish I used was Zoya Crystal. Such a lovely colour, with two coats my nails looked fabulous!

But since it was for Christmas I wanted to add something extra.
So I frosted the tips with ColorClub Snowflakes and then using silver, pink and golden spangles I made a Christmas Tree on a finger of each hand. Sealed everything with a coat of Seche and I was done.

I was very pleased with this manicure as it wore really well for 5 whole days.

How was your Christmas everyone?I hope you had fun with your loved ones ^_^
This year is almost finished, I cannot believe it went by so fast.
Less than two days left for 2010!

Holo + glitter = yet another Christmas manicure

Hello everyone!

It's almost time for Christmas, yay!!! So I'm taking a small break from the mountains of housework I have to do to share yet another Holiday manicure.

This one is quite simple. Basically I wanted to use a holographic polish in the mix . So I chose China Glaze He's Going in Circles from the Kaleidoscope collection.

Then for the rest of the fingers I used China Glaze Frosty.

Sponged BB Couture Bonnie for a green gradient effect and then a coat of China Glaze Party Hearty. Topped everything with Seche and I was done,

I hope you liked this manicure ^_^
Now I need to go back to what I was doing eeeeeek!!!

China Glaze new collections!

Okay I usually don't write about such things as many other blogs cover the news but right now I am so so so so so excited!!!!

China Glaze is coming out with more holographic nail polishes in the spring. The series will be limited and will be available at Sally's beauty Supply. Now you know my feelings about China Glaze holo polishes, I absolutely adore them so there are fabulous news!!! I am not sure how I will get this collection but I will def hunt it down somehow.

And let's not forget the crackle polishes that will be coming out on February.

All information and images are taking from the China Glaze facebook page.

On a sidenote I made a few changes on my blog, I put the giveaways on a page that you can access at the top of  my blog and also added a Swap page.
And I also joined tumblr. If you want check out my page, Cel's sparkly world. It's quite random but I'm having a lot of fun with it. If you have a page too let me know, I would love to check it out and follow you ^_^

A black manicure with lots of sparkle

Hello everyone ^_^/

how are you today?
Just a few days now left for Christmas, weeeeee I'm so excited.
Today I will share a black manicure with a twist. I was inspired to do this by various nail art designs that I saw on Japanese nail magazines. It can be worn for the festive season too.

Here is what you will need for this manicure.

Essence Fatal
BB Couture Spellbound (from my awesome Overall Beauty haul that I will be posting about soon)
Zoya Nova
silver spangles in various sizes
Seche Vite top coat

I painted all the fingers except one on each hand black. Then the two accent fingers that I chose were painted with Spellbound and then Nova. Added the spangles on the black nails forming various lines, topped with Seche and done.

I was so happy with this one that I didn't want to take it off. And as you can see when the light hits it, it's a really sparkly and eye catching manicure! I think I might be doing something similar for New Year's, but with different colours ^_^

the Greek files #4

Hello everyone ^_^/

almost a month has passed since my last Greek Files post so here is another one.

Today I will present to you some nail polishes from Deborah. This brand is not Greek but it is readily available in many beauty stores here and has a fabulous colour selection. Judging from the bottles I would say the brand is Italian but I could be wrong.

So here are my three favourite colours from them.
18 a lovely dark pink with gold shimmer
19 an intense black with multicoloured glitter
36 a deep purple/green duochrome of sorts with silver shimmer

Below you can see them on my nails. Each colour is two coats without base or top coat.

I think 17 could use a third coat as I can still see the nail line but they other colours look great with just two coats. 36 looks like a duocrhome in the bottle but the effect is not that visible when worn. Out of the three I think my favourite is the black, such a fabulous colour!

What do you think of this brand? Have you heard of it before?

A glittery Christmas manicure with TiNS and Anna Sui

Hello everyone ^_^/

With just 11 days left for Christmas, here is another Christmas manicure.
To be honest I did this quite some time ago but as it turned out too Christmasy I was saving it for the holiday season.

This look is quite easy to make and I actually got a lot of compliments on it when I had it on.
Here is what I used.

Anna Sui 318, a lovely pink shimmery polish.
TiNS the Holiday Cheer, a fabulous green glitter polish
Anna Sui base and top coat
Natural look Gel top coat
Rhinestones by Viva La Nails

After applying base coat and two coats of each colour on different fingers, I made diagonal stripes with the TiNS polish and using top coat and the rhinestones I made flowers on the other fingers. I used just the glitter polish on my thumb and didn't put anything else on that nail as the colour is quite spectacular on it's own.
I sealed everything with a layer of natural look Gel top coat and voilĂ !

A frozen Christmas mani

Good evening everyone ^_^/

Christmas is just two weeks away so time for a winter manicure that is fit for Christmas too.
This idea came to me while I was playing around with some crackle polishes and I really liked the look so I decided I needed to do a full on manicure like that.

It was actually a very easy look to achieve.

First I started with base coat and a coat of Color Club Take me to your Château

Then I applied a layer of Isadora Graffiti nails in Subway Green

And finally to take things a step further a coat of China Glaze Luna.

Topped everything off with a coat of Seche and I was good to go.

I really liked this manicure and I was very excited as I came up with the idea by mistake.
If you wanna try it too, why not enter my Festive Giveaway for a chance to win Isadora Graffiti Nails in Subway Green amongst many other goodies. Deadline is tomorrow.

GOSH Holographic

Hello everyone ^_^/

December is finally here, which means less than a month for Christmas.
And yet here we are having maybe the warmest winter I can ever remember.
20C today, I cannot believe it *rolls eyes*

I am so jealous of all the other European countries where it's snowing, I want the same here aaaaargh!

Oh well, since there is nothing I can do about that, how about some nail swatches of the lovely GOSH Holographic nail polish. I have been reading about this polish for quite some time, yet it was impossible to find at a reasonable price. So when I found a good deal at ebay I didn't think twice.

Last week this pretty polish arrived so here are some swatches.
As I wanted to see it in it's full glory I didn't use any base or top coat, just two coats of the polish.

After wearing it for four days I wanted to change my manicure but before that I decided to try some of my Sally Hansen and Essence nail art pens on it to see how they would look. So I doodled on my nails a bit. Darling found it very funny and is still teasing me about it XD

I have to say GOSH holographic really lived up to my expectations. It is a super shiny holographic polish, it looked perfect with two coats and for the four days I was wearing it, it lasted great. Plus it looks even better when I doodle on it. That's definitely a plus!

*edit* to remind you of my 400 followers giveaway that is ending on December 10. There will be two winners, so if you haven't entered already, now is your chance ;)

BarryM Indigo

Hello everyone ^_^/

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. I spent most of my time doing housework bleh.
But I found time to hang out with my dear friend T. and she agreed once more to be my nail model to try out some new colours. This time we tried out Indigo, one of the latest colours in the BarryM nail polish collection.
Two coats with base coat but no top coat.

The colour is very pretty but we decided to add some glitter to spice it up.
Here is the result after a coat of BarryM Once Upon a Time and a coat of Seche.

What do you think of this combination?

Holographic skittles mani

Hello everyone ^_^/

yay, finally it's the weekend. I had a horrible week since I had a really bad cold which meant almost no activity for me for days. So today I will share an older manicure, a holographic skittles manicure I did a while ago using nail polishes from the China Glaze Kaleidoscope collection.

These are the colours I used.

From left to right and from little finger to thumb:
Sexagon, Visit me in Prism, How about a Tumble, Octa Gone Wild, Let's do it in 3D

Each was two coats and a coat of Seche on top. I was really impressed as the colour's didn't lose their holo effect at all with the use of topcoat.

Also this post marks my blog's 6 months anniversary. My first post was on May 24th. It seems like ages ago!

Enjoy your weekend everyone and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone living in the US ^____^
