Guest post: China Glaze Tranzitions Winter 2012 Collection

Hello everyone ^_^/

today's post is a guest appearance from Becomegorgeous.com presenting the China Glaze Tranzitions collection

・。・゜★・。・。☆・゜・。・゜。・。・゜★・。・。☆
It's amazing how much creativity nail care designers prove with every nail polish collection launch as every time new pigments take over the nail color scene, pigments that push the boundaries and that aim to underline personality and style. This winter, China Glaze channeled all its energy to create an innovative nail polish collection that will sweep nail art enthusiasts off their feet, which features a special high-pigment formula that can intensify its color once a top coat is applied over it.

The innovative nail polishes featured in China Glaze's Tranzitions collectionprovide the easiest means to a fuss-free two tone manicure that will instantly draw attention and that will make your nail pampering time a delight, as achieving fabulous gradient color nail art has never been easier. Just apply and sweep on a top coat in the desired pattern to help activate the color and give it a more intense look!
The top coat can be applied on just the tip of the nail, in an oblique pattern, on half the nail, all over the nail with the exception of the lunula for a half-moon manicure, in dotted patterns to achieve a stylish dotted nail art design, you name it! The options are limitless and the color palette available in the collection is quite vast. The colors chosen for the Tranzitions collection are fabulous and in perfect sync with the fall/winter trends, so check out these oh-so-hot nail lacquers and start polishing your digits to perfection:
  • Metallic Metamorphosis – without top coat gray metallic/ blue gray with top coat
  • Duplicityy – without top coat soft sea foam green/ deep mint green with top coat
  • Split Perso-nail-ity – without top coat dusty pink/ deep dusty pink with top coat
  • Modify Me – without top coat periwinkle/ indigo with top coat
  • Altered Reality – without top coat turquoise/ chrome turquoise water with top coat
  • Shape Shifter – without top coat violet gun metal/ deep blue purple with top coat

The new innovative formula is also chemical free meaning ingredients such as DBP, Toluene and Formaldehyde, which can cause damage to the nail and the color provided with every application is long lasting and chip-free, so you can enjoy your fabulous manicure for longer.

October nail inspiration, lace and freehand nail art tutorials

Hello everyone ^_^/

no October nail inspiration post would be complete without Halloween nail art. This time I was drawn to a fabulous dark lace nail design from the current issue of Nail Venus. Black lace on a grey background, with Swarovski crystals. Very elegant and perfect for a Vamp look.

Lately I am also into freehand nail art. I love experimenting with acrylic paint and different nail art brushes so here are a couple of tutorials I found interesting (they are from Nail Venus as well). The first is a skull in black and white, very appropriate for the season but also for a deathrock or gothic manicure. The second is a romantic Eiffel tower nail art design.

Both are awesome and I definitely want to try them. How about you dear readers? What will you be wearing for Halloween this year?

Shopping in Hong Kong

Hello everyone ^_^/

September has been such an exciting month, filled with interesting and fun experiences. For this post I will talk about one of my favourite subjects, shopping. Hong Kong is a great place for shopping as it's full of shops and shopping malls with a variety of products for every pocket. In this post I will show you my Hong Kong haul and share with you my favourite places to shop in this vibrant city.

I will start with my Hong Kong haul.

As Asian cosmetic brands are impossible to find in Greece, I started saving up as soon as I found out about the trip and made some lists to be able to get the things I wanted. I shopped only for cosmetics as my time was quite limited so there was no time to browse around.
On the top left you can see my nail polish haul. Apart from the Anna Sui goodies (I loved the nail set with two glitters, a nail strengthener and a nail polish remover), I got some Deborah Lippmanns that I had my eye on for quite some time and a few cheaper nail polishes from brands like Sasa and TonyMoly (I am so in love with this brand right now that I am planning on writing a post just for TonyMoly products).
My favourite out of all the things I got has got to be the Anna Sui blush (you can see it in the far right photo in the middle row). The roses are so pretty and I don't think I will ever use it as I don't want to ruin them. I've been wanting to get this for quite some time and when I saw it up close, I couldn't resist.
I also stocked up on facemasks and various other drugstore products. If there is anything you find interesting, let me know and I will write about it in more detail.

So where to go when one wants to get cosmetics in Hong Kong? There are so many stores and huge variety.
For more high end brands like Anna Sui, Shu Uemura, NARS and Jill Stuart you need to head to SOGO, the famous Japanese department store. There are a few of them around the city, including one in Causeway Bay and one inside the Langham Place shopping mall.

If you want cheaper brands like Majolica Majorca, Kate, Heroine Make and My Beauty Diary head to Sasa which is like a local Sephora (but better XD). They also have their own brand cosmetics which are really nice. You can find Sasa stores everywhere.
For Japanese brands you can visit the local branch of Daiso that is called Living Well at the moment. Everything in the store costs 12 HK dollars.
Also in Harbour City you can find standalone beauty booths. Brands include Lush, Tony Moly, Laka and Dermalogica to name a few.

Have you ever been to Hong Kong dear readers? What is your favourite destination for shopping?

The Dragon goes to Hong Kong

Hello everyone ^_^/

As I mentioned in my previous post, in early September I went on a very exciting trip to one of my favourite locations in the world, Hong Kong. While packing my suitcase I was trying to decide what to do with my nails and since this was a business trip I decided to wear something that would bring me luck.

My nail polish of choice was Dragon from a england, a fabulous holographic green nail polish from the Legend collection.

Dragon is a symbol of luck and prosperity in Hong Kong and I can say it brought me luck too ^_^

I used two layers of dragon and then decided to add some nail stickers to add a dragon scale look to some of my nails. Topped everything with Seche Vite topcoat and my nails looked awesome for the whole trip.

Although my schedule was quite tight I managed to go around and see a bit of the city (and catch up with friends who live there).

Hong Kong is a beautiful vibrant city and there is so much to see and do. I had some time to make a brief visit to Disneyland and also admire the 100 Doraemons outside of Harbour City.

Of course I took some snaps of the food to share with you all.

I did a bit of shopping too but I will make another post with my Hong Kong haul and my favourite places to shop there.

Have you ever been to Hong Kong dear readers? What is your favourite travelling destination?
