May nail inspiration, Japanese nail art and decoden

If you read this blog frequently, you must know by now that I love Japanese nail art and decoden. So for this month's nail inspiration how about combining the two? Here is nail art inspired by deco items
The images are from Nail Max Collections.

Handpainted decoden phone case and matching nails. So cute and yummy!!!

Or if you wish, you can match your nails to your favourite deco photo frame.

Airbrush nail art and matching chopsticks. So pretty!!!

Here are a few more ideas. Match your nails to your accessories, your perfume bottle, your camera or even your champagne bottle!

When it comes to deco and nail art, the only limit is your imagination. There are so many different methods, techniques and products that you can use that the possibilities are endless.

What do you think of this idea dear readers? Do you find it inspiring or too much?

For the record I am stating again that these images are from Nail Max Collections and are just scanned by me. You can click on each image to see a bigger version.

Favourite cosmetics brands - Majolica Majorca

Today I have for you another post about one of my favourite Asian beauty brands. The brand I want to talk about is Majolica Majorca from Japan, the drugstore section of Shiseido, available only in Asian countries like Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

The first thing you'll notice is the fabulous packaging!
Gold and black are the main colours but special edition items are even cuter!

Let's take a look at some of the products. I will start with their mascaras which in my opinion are top quality. They are some of the best I have ever used, with spectacular results! You might have read previous posts where I express my adoration for Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus (their top product if you ask me) but I actually own quite a few from their collection. They all have special brushes and work really well. You can see them all, along with brush shots below.

The white ones are primers. My favourite is the one in the back. It builds up your lashes, making them look longer. I have tried all of the mascaras above and I am very pleased with all of them. They all do what they promise.

Next up are the face products. The star product here (and my second favourite product from this brand) is the Majolica Majorca Pressed Pore Cover compact (the black box). It's a translucent powder that blends with the colour of your skin and give a flawless end result. As you can see, I always have a refill available, as I use this powder almost daily (along with my beloved BB cream).

The red compact is the Special Edition All Night Compact. It is also a translucent powder with a hint of shimmer. Perfect for a special occasion or a night out. And finally the white tube is the Majolica Majorca Skin Lingerie Pore Cover. it is a face primer with SPF 20. I like it because it's light and it works well with my oily skin. It has a light shade but it blends well with most skin tones.

Next up is my small collection of eye products, some eyeliners and my trusted white eyeshadow (I use it mostly as a base).

A couple of special edition items that I picked up while in Hong Kong. A small Majolica Majorca Jeweling Eyes eyeshadow compact in lavender sugar and a Majolica Majorca Puff De Cheek blush in peach macaron. I love the kawaii sweets theme ^_^

Even though Majolica Majorca has a great range of nail colours I don't own many as I find them very sheer. I only have these two. The swatches are 4 coats without base or top coat yet as you can see they are both quite sheer. They are perfect for jelly sandwiches though!

Are you familiar with this brand dear readers? Would you try it? Any products that I haven't tried that you would recommend?

Cirque nail polish, my new nail polish love

If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen my TiNS and Cirque nail polish haul from a few months ago. I've been seeing Cirque nail polishes around for quite some time now and I've been really impressed by the unique sparkly colours.

After trying to narrow down my wishlist as much as possible I placed an order with Mei Mei's signatures and waited anxiously for my nail polishes to arrive. When I opened my package I wasn't disappointed! All 4 colours were fabulous. I have chosen Galinda, a beautiful white glitter, Vaudeville, a lilac nail polish full of iridescent glitter, Hellebore a green glitter with a touch of pink and Fascination Street, a fabulous dark blue holographic nail polish.

In the course of the last couple of months I tried all 4 colours so I am ready to show them to you ^_^

As I have a thing for purple, of course I had to start with Vaudeville which turned out to be my favourite of the bunch.

You can see how it looks under different lighting. From top to bottom there's direct sunlight, artificial light and shade. I wore two coats over top coat and of course used a coat of Seche Vite on top.

A few days later the colour was still intact and I decided to layer Hellebore over it.

I loved the combination of the two colours! Unfortunately the weather was cloudy so I didn't manage to take a decent photo.

Here is Fascination Street. Blue is not a colour I am overly fond of on my nails but when it is combined with a holographic effect, I am sold!

Finally a few days ago white wearing a black nail polish I decided to go for glitter tips, using Galinda.
What do you think of this combination dear readers? Do you own any Cirque nail colours? Which one is your favourite?

March nail inspiration, floral nails tutorial, spring nail designs

Spring is here once again and as everything around me is blooming, I can't help but dedicate this month's nail inspiration post to flower nail art that is perfect for spring! All this month's nail art comes from Ericonail, one of the most well known nail salons in Japan, that also has an exclusive nail art supply line.

Check out these fabulous floral nail designs!

If you would like to have something similar on your own nails take a look at these step by step nail art tutorials.

The first tutorial is a girly flower nail art design by Yoshitake Ayako. A design in pastel colours with small flowers and lace. You will need two nail polishes in white and pastel green (or any other pastel colour you like really), lace nail stickers, acrylic paints in shades of pink and green (for the flowers) and silver bullions (I find these optional). Then you carefully follow the instructions in the pictures. Of course you can modify the design as you see fit.

The second tutorial is a vivid flower nail art design by Takeda Chika. A design in shades of pink with beautiful 3d flowers and a hint of glitter. You will need three nail polishes in pearl white, pink and fuchsia, acrylic powder (or 3d flower stickers which are easier to use), a glitter nail art polish, pearls and gold bullions.

What do you think of these nail art tutorials dear readers? Would you every try something like this on your nails?

Also don't forget to enter my kawaii giveaway, open until Marxh 31st.
