Purple, glitter and duochrome! Yes, please!

Hello everyone ^_^/

It's a lovely Sunday and time for another post too.

Today I will show you the mani I did for my recent trip to London.
I was going through my stash and found a bunch of Sinful Colors polishes that I haven't used, plus I recently randomly discovered Sally Hansen's Garnet Lapis at a local store so I decided to combine all these in a manicure and see what will happen. And this is what I got.

Here are all the nail polishes that I used.

From left to right, Seche Vite top coat, Sinful Colors I Miss You, Daddy's Girl and I Love You, Sally Hansen Garnet Lapis and Color Club Vitabase.

First I painted half of my nails with Daddy's Girl and half with I Love You.

The colours look quite similar in the bottle but on the nails Daddy's Girl is a more blueish purple (it's on my pinky and middle finger).
Then I painted some nails with I Miss You and some with Garnet Lapis. Topped everything with Seche Vite and I was ready to go.

It was very interesting seeing how differently I Miss You looked on Daddy's Girl and I Love You. Garnet Lapis on the other hand looked the same over each colour.

Recently I do not have enough time to do my nails which is why you haven't seen a lot of nail art or stamping from me, but I found that combining different colours and finishes is another way of spicing up a manicure. Also this one lasted almost 10 days with no chipping whatsoever, even when I was dragging my overstuffed suitcase at the airport!

On another note I would like to let you all know that my giveaway is now closed.

Thank you so much to everyone who entered, I am really happy and touched by all your sweet messages *^_^*

I now need to verify and count the entries and then I will announce the winners. Also as during my giveaway, my blog passed the 1000 followers mark, I picked up a couple of special items from London that will be a 1000 follower special prize. The winner of that will be picked from all my current followers and will be announced along with the winners of my giveaway.

Hope you're all having a fab weekend :)

London hauls

Hello everyone ^_^/

while waiting for my hair to dry so I can go to sleep, I am hogging the net  around here to make a quick haul post. Hopefully some of you will find it interesting!

I got some Sleek goodies including the whole Mediterranean collection, a few L'Occitane goods I found on sale (some necessary sun protection cremes for the beach and a lovely peach scented body scrub and body gel set), a couple of Urban Decay primers and some nail polishes including the much coveted Accessorize duochromes.

Here are some more detailed pics for your viewing pleasure.

I got a few other things but they are presents for friends and things for swaps so I didn't include them in the photos.

And I will close this post by showing you one of the fabulous window displays from Fortnum & Mason.

*edit* eeeeeep I just realised I hit 1000 followers!!! Thank you so much everyone, I feel really honoured and very happy!!! Much love to all of you and expect a 1000 follower surprise sometime soon :)

Some nail art for your viewing pleasure

Hello everyone ^_^/

I am sorry about the lack of updates but I am travelling at the moment and internet access is limited.
So here is a cool nail art display I saw while walking around London today.

Excuse the crappy iPhone pic but at least you get an idea about what's in here right now ;)

Will try to do a mini haul post tomorrow.

the Greek files #8 and a NOTW

Hello everyone ^_^/

today marks the end of a long weekend for us here and I have yet another version of the Greek files along with a NOTW.

A few weeks ago I picked up some nail colours from local brands to swatch.
Amongst them was Seventeen #501 a fabulous dark purple with silver glitter. It looked fun in the bottle and purple always catches my eye. But when I saw it on my nails, I was blown away!

It is one of the prettiest purple polishes I have ever owned. I applied two coats over base coat. The formula was perfect and I had full coverage with two coats. I didn't apply any top coat and it dried quite fast.

I liked the colour so much that I didn't want to take it off. So I decided to spice it up and keep it for the week (I usually do my nails once or maximum twice a week as I am quite busy most of the time). I went for a silver x purple combination to match the nail polish as best I could.

Here is what I used

Seventeen #501
Essence Blair
Essence silver stampy polish
Seche Vite top coat
Bundle Monster plates 225 and 211 from the new set.

And this is the final result.

I think that #500 is one of the prettiest colours in the Seventeen collection and definitely my favourite purple right now.

For a chance to win some Greek nail polishes along with other goodies don't forget to enter my ongoing giveaway ^_^

Bling bling is never a bad thing!

Hello everyone ^_^/

it's the start of a long weekend here and today I will share a few easy deco projects that everyone can do.

We all have some items lying around that can get a new life just by using some Swarovski crystals and a bit of glue.

Like this old silver watch.

It became completely new just with a row of Swarovski crystals.

Same as these lovely golden bracelets.

This animal print bracelet has been lying useless when one of the cabochons fell off.
By adding a lovely black rose, it became like new!

If you have more space and want something more personalized you can even create your initials using crystals.

Or even change the look of a surface by covering it completely with rhinestones and cute cabs!

I always love experimenting with deco and transforming all sorts of things.

Are you a fan of the bling? Would you ever consider trying one of the above deco projects?
If your answer is yes, stay tuned as I am preparing a couple of tutorials on the subject :)

A swap and a Facebook only giveaway

Hello everyone ^_^/

How are you all enjoying your weekend?
We are starting to melt here already gah! October just cannot come soon enough X____X
But this post has nothing to do with the weather.

I want to show you today a swap I made with the lovely Stephanie from So Nailed.

We have been planning our swap for a while now and I was so excited when I received her package.
Everything was cutely wrapped in purple gift wrap and it felt like Christmas unwrapping everything ^_^
Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of everything before unwrapping it but here are the package contents laid out!

First off the nail polishes

Stephanie chose some fantastic colours for me and these are my first Hema and Sephora polishes, yay!!!
I have on a mani with two of the Hema polishes as we speak, which I will show you in a future post.
She also included a ton of lovely goodies and even some of the infamous Leonidas pralines and a pretty purple ring!

Thank you so much Stephanie for everything, it was so much fun swapping with you <<<<3
Everyone make sure to check So Nailed, okay?

Also as I mentioned before on my Blog Birthday giveaway post (which is open until June 25 in case you didn't know), I am going to be holding a Facebook only giveaway too.

It's time for the June calendar, yay!!!

Hello everyone ^_^/

it's June and the weather here is quite warm already.
The time to hit the beaches is getting closer and closer and who wouldn't want fabulous nails to match the summer mood? So here is the June installment of the nail art diary from Nail Up!

If you are wondering why these lovely ladies are holding umbrellas, that's because June in Japan marks the start of the rainy season ^_^

And here are this month's nail art tutorials (you can click on the photo to enlarge it).

We have two lovely tutorials for this month.
A pastel glittery one and a red polka dot of sorts.

For the pastel glittery one:
First you paint randomly on the nail with purple, pink and yellow.
Then fill the blanks with glittery blue and green.
Finally apply glitter over the whole nail and you are done.

For the red one.
Using red nail polish do a half moon manicure.
Carefully paint the half moon with glitter.
Then using holographic spangles carefully make the design.

That's it for this month's calendar.

BUT...
BUT...

I am not finished yet.
I have for you the first surprise mini giveaway as promised in my Birthday Giveaway post.
Basically the giveaway took place during my previous post because I'm sneaky like that.
If you read that post, you might have noticed that I was wearing the ring pictured below.

So I decided to give away one like this to one of the lovely ladies who were kind enough to comment on my last post. There were 10 commenters and using random.org the winner turned out to be Natalie Douka from Natalie's Beauty Land. Yay!!! So congratulations Natalie, you won this ring! I am going to be shooting you an email right after I am done with this post!

Also as many readers keep asking me where I get my nail mags, I have subscriptions and I get them every month at my doorstep. Is that convenient or what? ;)

That's it for today ladies, keep an eye on my FB as the next giveaway will take place there. I have two Korres beauty packs to give away hehehe.
