Accidental holo or an Etude House mani

Hello everyone ^_^/

how are you all doing? It's late at night here but I am sneaking a quick post before going to bed to share my accidental holo mani, as I like to call it.

A couple of days ago while going through my stash trying to decide which nail polish to use next I spotted a batch of untried Etude House polishes. Being in the mood for something purple I picked PP007 and BR003 to use as an accent colour.

As I started painting my nails I realised that PP007 is actually a fabulous purple holo! The effect is not as intense as say the China Glaze OMG collection but it looks fabulous none the less. The formula was great for both colours and with two coats I had perfect coverage. A coat of Seche didn't diminish the holo effect but made my nails look even shinier. BR003 is a sparkly silvery gold, if that makes any sense. I am very pleased with both colours and absolutely loving this manicure ^_^

If you get a chance to get your hands on these polishes, go for it. They are amazing! I got mine through ebay, just search for Etude House nail polish or Korean nail polish.

I have tags and awards and many more things to post and comments to leave, but all that will have to wait until the weekend when I have more time. Until then I hope you enjoyed this lovely mani! Have a lovely day/night all of you <3

Asian flavour manicure

Hello everyone ^_^/

How are you all doing? Getting ready for the weekend?
I hope you have some time to relax and enjoy yourselves.
As for me I can finally relax a bit and share another manicure with you.
I call it an Asian flavour manicure.

This turned out to be one of my favourite manis ever and to be honest I was just improvising as I went on.
I used nail polishes and nail art supplies from my recent swap with 'Chelle (from Cosmetic Cupcake) and an Essence image plate.

After applying the Orly tough cookie base coat, I painted my nails two coats of Mode's Jaded.

It's a lovely nail polish, with a rich colour which was quite sheer in two coats though as you can see.
But I was content with them as I had other plans for this mani.

I sponged diagonal french tips using Chic Chic 38 and then using  NYC midnight I stamped various images from the Essence nail plate on my nails. Midnight proved perfect for stamping as all the images came out perfect.

Sealed everything with a coat of Seche and I was done.

I did this 4 days ago and my nails are still 100% chip free. I am loving this so much that I don't want to take it off. The colours somehow remind me of kimono fabrics and Asian prints. What do you think?

Ozotic pro 502 and NARS zulu dupe

Hello everyone ^_^

it's a lovely rainy morning here and I have a new manicure to share!
It is my first mani with some of the lovely polishes I got from my dear friend 'Chelle (check my previous post for more if you haven't).

After much thinking I decided to try Chic Chic 23 and the infamous Ozotic Pro 502 first.

Chic Chic is a brand from Hong Kong and number 23 has the same colour as NARS Zulu. I don't actually own NARS zulu but judging from the photos I have seen I think that the colour seems to be the same indeed.
I had no application issues with this polish although it was a bit thick so I applied only one coat to be able to see the colour better.

As you can see the colour is a lovely dark green.

But I just couln't stop there, I wanted to spice it up a bit. So I applied a coat of Ozotic pro 502 over it and this is the final result. Unfortunatelly after painting a coat of Seche on top of Ozotic it shrunk in a couple of places. I will try another top coat next time.

I really love this polish, depending on the light it takes on a different colour, from copper to burgundy with hints of green. As I find it quite thin I wouldn't use it on it's own because I think it would need many layers for perfect coverage. But I find it perfect for layering. Ozotic Pro is an Australian brand with a fabulous colour range from what I have seen but it is quite hard to find.

Do you own any Ozotic Pro nail polishes? I am really thankful to 'Chelle for going to all the trouble of getting this for me as I know these polishes are very hard to find, even for people who live in Australia.

Swaps and giveaway winnings

Hello everyone ^_^/

how are you all doing today? I am recovering from gastroenteritis which is keeping me mostly in bed but I wanted to make a quick blog post so here I am :)

I want to share with you the first package I received for 2011 which was another swap with my dear 'Chelle from Cosmetic Cupcake. I always enjoy swapping with her, she is so sweet and kind and always picks the nicest polishes for me ^____^ So I was super happy that my first package for the year was from her.

She also included a lot of yummy treats, nail art goods, an awesome lemon lipbalm and even my favourite My Beauty Diary face masks <3

The snacks didn't last long as my hubby attacked them on the spot. I did manage to hide some though hehehehe!

Here are a couple of close ups of the nail polishes.

NYC midnight, LAKA 59, mode jaded, Ozotic Pro 502, purplish pink of awesomeness from brand I cannot recognise, purple crackle polish <<<<<<3

BYS cracked polish in mauve, Chic Chic 38, Chic Chic 23 (which a dupe of NARS zulu), BYS matte top coat.

And the rest of the goodies minus the snacks

I am already wearing a couple of these lovelies (will share my mani in the next post) and I think I am going to try the sponging goodies next ^_____^

Also back in November I won a giveaway for the first time. It was so exciting ! It was the Beata's Birthday Giveaway over at Tigirlyly Konadicures.  I got the package some time in December and here is what I won.

Step 3 making sure you maintain balance on the nail, apply the rhinestones.

So what do you think? Do you like the designs on this calendar? Which one is your favourite?
I see a lot of designs that I would like to try ^_^
