Floral nails and a nail art class

February turned out to be a very busy month, leaving me no time for blogging yet again. I had the opportunity to do many fun things, including teaching a nail art class, so here is a nail inspiration post full of nail art ideas.

We tried a variety of nail art designs, incuding glitter gradations, animal print nails and cute fruits, using nail polish, glitter and acrylic colours.

For the occasion I decided to sport floral nails, mixing handpainted flowers and polka dots so I can show the girls how they can combine different designs to create a fun manicure.

Have you ever attended a nail art class dear readers? Or do you find the idea boring?

Black Ice by Jessica Cosmetics review

It's been a while since I did a nails of the day post but I am wearing a fabulous colour on my nails at the moment and it deserves some attention. It's none other than Black Ice by Jessica cosmetics.

I have a soft spot for all types of black nail polish so I instantly fell in love with this colour. I love black nails and I find that they are perfect all year round.

Black Ice is a black jelly with silver glitter. A great combination for those who love dark colours and gothic fashion like I do ^_^

I applied 3 coats over base coat as I wanted an intense black colour on my nails and I found the colour is a bit sheer. I sealed it with a coat of Seche Vite as usual. So far I have it on for three days and no chipping has occured.

This nail polish was provided to me for consideration by Beyond Polish but this did not influence my review in any way. This review expresses my honest opinion. If you would like to buy this nail polish or more you can visit http://www.beyondpolish.com/

Picture Polish Frosting, a nail polish by Cosmetic Cupcake

Lately I have been in love with a specific nail polish, so much that I was wearing it for two weeks straight. And you know that is a very long time for a nail polish addict! It all started back in early August when I received a package from my dear friend 'Chelle who runs the blog Cosmetic Cupcake (more on that epic package on a later post). Inside was Frosting, a nail polish she created in collaboration with piCture pOlish. As soon as I laid eyes on it I was in love!

I think it is one of the cutest nail polishes I have ever seen and worn on my nails! Pink, silver and purple glitter mixed with hearts suspended in a pink milky base. I expected nothing less from my dear friend as this unique creation matches her completely ^_^

In the photos I am wearing two coats over base coat, sealed with a coat of Seche Vite top coat.

I loved how it looked on my nails and kept staring at my hands! With a coat of Seche Vite it lasted 6 days without chipping (then I had to redo it).

I got so many compliments on it that I got inspired to create a cute romantic handmade necklace too!

What do you think of this nail polish dear readers? Isn't it adorable? If you wish to purchase it head over at Picture Polish. If you like the necklace instead you can find it at Cel's Deconails storenvy or etsy store ^_^

Happy New Year with bling nails

Hello everyone ^_^/

usually my first post if the month is a nail art inspiration post but as this is the first post of the New Year I wanted to start a bit differently (the nail inspiration post will be up in a couple of days). Let me start off by wishing you all a Happy New Year. May 2013 be a year full of happiness, joy, health and everything you desire. 2013 is the year of the snake so I wanted my nails to have a snake like theme. I looked for nail polishes that would give my nails a scale effect in red and gold colours to bring good luck for the New Year.
I ended up using Change and Ruby Red Ruby by Lynnderella.

Here is what I used. All these lovely nail polishes  (including the Lynnderellas) were Christmas gifts from my dear friend 'Chelle from Cosmetic Cupcake.

This holiday season has been full of fun and joyous meetings as friends from far away came to visit.

We had lots of epic food together.

We welcomed the New Year together and made New Year's resolutions. Concerning my blog, my resolutions are a. to post more and b. to introduce a variety of new topics ^_^

We also caught the first sunsets of the year together.

How did you spend your holidays dear readers? Did you make any New Year's resolutions?

p.s. have you entered my Facebook only giveaway yet? If your answer is no, hurry to my facebook page, it is open until January 10.

Layla Hologram Effect nail polish in Cloudy Violet and Emerald Divine

Hello everyone ^_^

it's been a while since I've last showed you a holographic nail polish around here but this is about to change. Recently I got my hands on a couple of Layla Hologram Effect nail polishes as I wanted to try them. The colours I chose were Cloudy Violet and Emerald Divine.

Before I continue, I would like to let you know that I have a Facebook only giveaway running, to celebrate my Facebook page 1000 likes milestone. Just go to Cel's Deconails facebook page to see how you can take part.

Back to the subject of nail polish, as I couldn't choose between the two, I decided to paint my nails with Cloudy Violet and use Emerald Divine as an accent colour on my ring finger. I used the NfuOh aqua base, applied two coats of the hologram effect nail polish on top and sealed everything with China Glaze Fast Forward top coat.

As you can see both colours look fabulous and Fast Forward didn't dull the holographic effect at all.

All photos are taken inside under artificial light. I wish I had some photos under direct sunlight to show you but the weather has been cloudy lately so I didn't get a chance to snap any.

What do you think of this combination dear readers? Do you own any Layla hologram effect nail polishes? Which colour would you recommend I should add to my collection? Let me know in the comments ^_^
