My instasummer, a photo blog post

It's been a while since I did a post like this but even though my blog is a bit quiet lately, I am very active on Instagram (you can follow me there if you like, or on facebook where I post many of my IG shots).

So here is what I've been up to in the last couple of months. First of all I got a new piece of furniture and rearranged part of my nail polish stash.

I managed to fit almost half of my collection, so I am pleased.

I also did a bit of shopping. Got some new nail polishes and beauty products.

I subscribed for Glowbox, a monthly beauty box full of beauty goodies (got two boxes so far and I have been very pleased with the contents)

Also finally got a tablet, as well as some mags, CDs, clothes and a new pair of shoes ^_^

Of course I did my nails, a lot!

And I enjoyed the sea as much as I could before the heat became too much!

What have you been up to lately dear readers? Are you on Instagram or facebook? Let's follow each other!
Also don't forget, now that google reader is gone you can keep up with my blog via bloglovin. For other ways to stay connected just check my sidebar ^_^

NYX Girls nail polish haul and swatches

Hello everyone ^_^/

as you might remember a few weeks ago I attended the NYX store opening in my city. As a nail polish collector who respects herself, of course I had to get some nail polish. The store carries the whole range of the NYX Girls nail polish and it was really hard choosing just a few shades.

In the end I decided to buy five shades, Woman, Moonwalk, Aqua Glitter, Maven and Fame. I also received Grapefruit in the gift bag we were given to try out the products.

So here are some swatches of the colours. All swatches are two coats, under direct sunlight. In the cases of Aqua Glitter, Maven and Fame, I swatched them both on their own and over black (one coat black, two coats of each NYX colour) as they are glitters suitable for layering.

From left to right we have Grapefruit, Woman, Moonwalk, Aqua Glitter, Maven, Fame.

Grapefruit is what I would call a pinkish orange, if that makes any sense. It's a beautiful creme, perfect for bright summer days. Woman is a deep burgundy shimmer that will definitely by on my nails during the Holiday season. Moonwalk is a cool lavender metallic colour. Aqua glitter and Maven look quite different in the bottle but on the nails I couldn't tell them apart. Both are very pretty but if you have one, you don't need the other. And last but not least is my favourite of the bunch, Fame. A purple glitter in clear base that looks absolutely fabulous when layered over black. I think I will wear this one the most and will try different layering combinations.

Do you own any NYX Girls nail polishes dear readers? Which shade is your favourite?

NYX store opening in Thessaloniki

Hello everyone ^_^/

October has been a very busy month in my city as many well known cosmetics companies have opened shops in the city centre. The most glamorous opening of all was definitely that of NYX Cosmetics. The opening was held on October 6 and all the beauty bloggers of the city were invited.

The store is conveniently located at Ermou 65 in the city centre.

Before the opening we had the chance to browse around and take a closer look at the products. It was fun meeting fellow bloggers while the NYX girls were very kind and helpful and answered all our questions.

I saw quite a few things I liked but as expected my main focus were the nail polishes. The colour range is amazing and there is no lack of my favourite glitters.

The NYX Cosmetics founder Toni Ko also attended the event. We all had the chance to ask her one question.

Unfortunately I had to leave so I didn't make it for the Q&A session. But my friend Fani from Our Walking Closet's Secrets was kind enough to ask my question too. Head over to her blog post to read what was discussed. Before we left we were given a few products to try out.

I really love the orange glitter, just in time for Halloween. I think it will look perfect both on my eyes and nails. The rest of the products were an eye shadow palette, a nail polish in Grapefruit, a jumbo lip pencil and a sheer gloss.

And last but not least, here is my first NYX haul. Apart from all the sparkly nail polishes, I got a face powder, 3 jumbo eye pencils (which are fantastic, I've been using them non stop since I got them) and a purple glitter powder. I will showcase all the above in an upcoming post so stay tuned.

All in all it was a fantastic evening. Welcome to Greece NYX Cosmetics, see you again soon for another epic haul ^_^

Shopping in Hong Kong

Hello everyone ^_^/

September has been such an exciting month, filled with interesting and fun experiences. For this post I will talk about one of my favourite subjects, shopping. Hong Kong is a great place for shopping as it's full of shops and shopping malls with a variety of products for every pocket. In this post I will show you my Hong Kong haul and share with you my favourite places to shop in this vibrant city.

I will start with my Hong Kong haul.

As Asian cosmetic brands are impossible to find in Greece, I started saving up as soon as I found out about the trip and made some lists to be able to get the things I wanted. I shopped only for cosmetics as my time was quite limited so there was no time to browse around.
On the top left you can see my nail polish haul. Apart from the Anna Sui goodies (I loved the nail set with two glitters, a nail strengthener and a nail polish remover), I got some Deborah Lippmanns that I had my eye on for quite some time and a few cheaper nail polishes from brands like Sasa and TonyMoly (I am so in love with this brand right now that I am planning on writing a post just for TonyMoly products).
My favourite out of all the things I got has got to be the Anna Sui blush (you can see it in the far right photo in the middle row). The roses are so pretty and I don't think I will ever use it as I don't want to ruin them. I've been wanting to get this for quite some time and when I saw it up close, I couldn't resist.
I also stocked up on facemasks and various other drugstore products. If there is anything you find interesting, let me know and I will write about it in more detail.

So where to go when one wants to get cosmetics in Hong Kong? There are so many stores and huge variety.
For more high end brands like Anna Sui, Shu Uemura, NARS and Jill Stuart you need to head to SOGO, the famous Japanese department store. There are a few of them around the city, including one in Causeway Bay and one inside the Langham Place shopping mall.

If you want cheaper brands like Majolica Majorca, Kate, Heroine Make and My Beauty Diary head to Sasa which is like a local Sephora (but better XD). They also have their own brand cosmetics which are really nice. You can find Sasa stores everywhere.
For Japanese brands you can visit the local branch of Daiso that is called Living Well at the moment. Everything in the store costs 12 HK dollars.
Also in Harbour City you can find standalone beauty booths. Brands include Lush, Tony Moly, Laka and Dermalogica to name a few.

Have you ever been to Hong Kong dear readers? What is your favourite destination for shopping?

Estessimo TiNS haul, magical bottles full of glitter

Hello everyone ^_^

Today I want to share with you one of my most favourite nail polish brands. In my opinion, it's maybe the best right next to Anna Sui. Years ago when most brands just had red, pink and sheer colours, this brand was showering nail art enthusiasts with glitter. It's none other than Estessimo TiNS, a Japanese nail polish brand. I first found out about it, while reading Japanese magazines and every time I was in Japan I would pick up a bottle or two.

But I was always looking for a place to buy them online that would ship internationally. Recently my wish was granted as I came across Mei Mei's Signatures. In the last couple of months I placed a few orders, trying to collect my Estessimo TiNS lemmings (that have been piling up over the years XD)

And here they are

On the top row, from left to right we have: the Happy Milk , the Dreamy Magic, Vanessa's Horoscope, the Amethyst, the Perfect Prince and the Saturn.
On the bottom row, from left to right we have: the Pink Sapphire, the Juicy Banana, the Sacred Shine, the Alluring Aquamarine, the Precious Diamond, Macaron Framboises and the Stunning Rock Star. Let me mention that most of these are glitters apart from  the Alluring Aquamarine, the Precious Diamond and the Stunning Rock Star that are holographics.

Of course since I got them, I have been wearing them non stop, so here are some recent manicures with these beauties.

On the top left I am wearing Estessimo TiNS the Mars, a sparkly red glitter that I had bough back in Japan.
In the top left and in the middle photos I am wearing Estessimo TiNS Vanessa's Horoscope, stamped with white Konad nail polish using the FUN2 image plate that I recently got from Fab Ur Nails.
And on the bottom row, you can see my current mani, Estessimo TiNS the Pink Sapphire. The photos don't do these beauties justice as they are fabulous when you see them up close but I did my best ^_^

How do you like this brand dear readers? Do you own any of these nail polishes? Would you like to see the rest of my TiNS stash? Or is there any specific colour that you would like to see in detail?

p.s. as always, you can click on the photos for bigger versions ^_^

February travels, London

Hello everyone ^_^/

I haven't done a photo post in a while and this one is long overdue. Back in February I had my birthday. One of the presents I received from my darling, was a trip to London. We had a fab time and I've been meaning to post about it since then. So, without further delay, here are a few impressions from our journey.

We stayed at a lovely studio flat near my old neighbourhood. That sure brought back a lof of memories but I was also amazed at how much London has changed in the last few years. Especially with the Olympics right around the corner, you can tell the city is ready to welcome all the athletes and tourists.

We enjoyed a lot of good food, be it Chinese, Mexican, Italian or even traditional British fish and chips.

We did a fair share of shopping too. To be honest I did most of the shopping while poor darling was patiently waiting for me to choose XD

The weather was lovely so we enjoyed walking around during the day
and in the evening too!

Finally here is part of my London haul.

I tried to hold back as much as I could but it was no easy fit, believe me!

Let's try something different

Hello everyone (^o^)/

I've been thinking for a while now that I wanted to have a bit more variety in my blog (which was my intention when I started, before getting sucked in to the world of nail polish). So since one of my hobbies is photography I decided to start a new feature for this blog, called "last month in pictures". Pretty self-explanatory, right?

So here is Cel's October in pictures.

I did a bit of nail hauling, both for me and for nail swaps.

I walked around town with good friends

And enjoyed the colours of a beautiful sunset.

But I wasn't lazy!

I tidied up my stuff (or at least I tried XD)

And worked on some custom orders and new items for my shop.

And that was how October went by (^∇^)

What did you think of this post dear friends? Did you like it or did you find it boring?
