It's time for the June calendar, yay!!!

Hello everyone ^_^/

it's June and the weather here is quite warm already.
The time to hit the beaches is getting closer and closer and who wouldn't want fabulous nails to match the summer mood? So here is the June installment of the nail art diary from Nail Up!

 If you are wondering why these lovely ladies are holding umbrellas, that's because June in Japan marks the start of the rainy season ^_^

And here are this month's nail art tutorials (you can click on the photo to enlarge it).

We have two lovely tutorials for this month.
A pastel glittery one and a red polka dot of sorts.

For the pastel glittery one:
First you paint randomly on the nail with purple, pink and yellow.
Then fill the blanks with glittery blue and green.
Finally apply glitter over the whole nail and you are done.

For the red one.
Using red nail polish do a half moon manicure.
Carefully paint the half moon with glitter.
Then using holographic spangles carefully make the design.

That's it for this month's calendar.

Happy May 1st with May's calendar!

Hello everyone ^_^/

How was your day today? Did you welcome May and spring?
I had a fabulous day and now that I am back home I want to share the nail art calendar for May!

For one more month Nail Up! didn't disappoint. All the designs are so fresh and cute!

And here is the nail art tutorial for May

First paint your nails in a white glitter colour.
Then paint the tips with a green colour, creating a french manicure.
Using pink and silver paint the checkered design and then add holo sparkles on the edge finalising the look!

What do you think of this month's look? I loved this tutorial, I want to give it a try although I fear I will fail horribly at it!

Calendar post for April

Hello everyone ^_^/

Today I have the nail calendar for April.

And the nail tutorial of the month which is a design that I adore and always wanted to try.
I guess April is the perfect month for it. It's none other than a pastel flower manicure.

1. Paint your nails in a yellow colour as a base.
2. Using red, pink, light blue and white acrylic paints draw the flowers.
3. Using green acrylic colour draw the leaves.
And you're done ^_^

What do you think of this month's calendar?
Apart from the tutorial look my favourite is the design from the 23rd.
I need to try these two manis for sure.

with the new month, spring has supposedly come (although it's still quite cold here).

So here is the March edition of the nail calendar from Nail Up!

For March there are two tutorials. Both are quite easy to make!

For the one on the left you paint the nails beige. Then using acrylic colours you paint pink and white stripes. With glitter and bullions you make a star and then add some rhinestones keeping a balanced look on the nail.


For the one on the right you start with a milky pink half moon mani. You draw the animal print with gold and brown. Finally you add the rhinestones on the half moon border and you're done!

One of the nail mags I have a subscription to, Nail Up!, has a lovely calendar with manicure ideas and tutorials for every month. So I have scanned it and will post at the beginning of each month the respective pages with translations.

First up is January

Step 1 Paint half the nail red and apply a gold nail art strip.

Step 2 using black acrylic (or a black nail art pen) draw the squares on the clear part.
Step 3 making sure you maintain balance on the nail, apply the rhinestones.
