Gotta love the bling!

Hello everyone ^_^/

How are you all doing? I hope you are enjoying the last days of August.

I am on vacation in lovely and super hot Tokyo and as my internet access here is weird, I cannot really post and comment as much as I would like. I do apologise for that. I am doing my best though and will catch up for good when I return.

So while here I am indulging in my favourite pastimes, including nails and deco of course. I have stocked up with fabulous new supplies and nail polishes that cannot be found elsewhere. I will have lots of haul photos and swatches to share when I return. I am also preparing a little surprise for you all, so stay tuned.

Until then let me share some deco with you, that I made for one of my dearest friends in the whole world.

First is a lovely hand mirror. She wanted something that would match the colours of her bedroom and have a romantic theme so this is what I did for her ^_^



And also a bling Hello Kitty ring. She said it reminded her of Paris Hilton. Should I be flattered or not? XD

Travel manicure

I am at the airport so this is a quick post with pics I took yesterday.

Two layers of Etude House Lucidarling in purple topped with two layers of NfuOh #50 and a coat of Etude House top coat.

Let's see how long it is gonna last in travelling conditions while I carry my suitcases and everything.

Viva La Nails sample pack

Hello everyone ^_^/

How are you all today? I hope the summer heat isn't torturing you too much.

I am slowly getting ready to leave for my vacation but this morning I received an envelope with a sample pack from Viva La Nails and I just had to give you all a peak.

When I opened the envelope I was surprised and excited from all the variety of the nail art goods. Water decals, nail stickers, glitter, rhinestones and spangles in all shapes and colours were included. I can't wait to create some nail designs with these when I return from my vacation but for starters here are some pictures so you can get an idea too :D

Anna Sui 2010 Fall collection nail colours

Hello everyone ^_^/

Since I handed in my last piece of work just a while ago I can say I am officially on vacation yay.

So while browsing the Anna Sui cosmetic site I came across the new fall collection special colours. They are already on sale in Japan since August 5.



I think I'm in love. I am dying to get my hands on some of these beauties.

Anna Sui is the brand that started my nail obsession and even though I cannot find her cosmetics in my country my collection keeps growing with the help of friends and through my travels as well. I can safely say that along with China Glaze, they are my favourite brands for nail polish.

I love her sparkly bright nail colour collection and the rose scent is an added extra. I definitely recommend Anna Sui nail polishes to every nail enthusiast. There is a huge collection to choose from.

10 Things I Like:

1. Travelling. I think I would be miserable if I wasn't able to travel. Be it a short break or a long trip I am always excited to see new places or visit old favourites. My top favourite locations are London and Tokyo.

2. Shopping. I admit it, I'm an addict. I have cut down a lot in recent years as I am becoming a mature woman *cough cough* but I always enjoy shopping either online or on the street :D

3. Feta cheese. I cannot live without it. I guess I really am Greek hehehe.

4. JE, meaning artists from Johnny's entertainment. My favourites are Kanjani8 and SMAP. Okay maybe they are not things but oh well. I like them enough to be in my top 10. I love Johnny's as they are called because they are shiny, sparkly, never afraid to make total fools of themselves and I love them for that.
Here is a small taste, one of my favourite songs from Kanjani8, Kicyu.


5. Going to live concerts. I love going to see my favourite artists live, the feeling is unbelievable.

6. Gackt. I mentioned JE so I have to add Gackt. He's a phenomenal artist and he deserves to be in this top 10.

7. Beauty products. From nail polishes to face masks, I love trying and using beauty products.

8. Music. I don't think I can live without music. I listen to all sorts of genres, from black metal and industrial to ethereal to j-pop.

9. Fresh lemonade. I cannot think of any better drink, even in the winter.

10. Reading. I love reading books, magazines, manga, anything really. Reading a good book always calms me :)

My cracked mani, let me show you it

Good morning everyone ^_^/

I hope you're all having a lovely day.
I am getting ready to get out in the heat (eeeeek) but before I want to share this lovely manicure with you all.

Ever since I saw the BYS cracked polishes, I wanted one so badly. Thanks to my dear 'Chelle I now have a black one in my hands.
So of course I had to try it :D



I used Snazzle, which is a silver foil as a base. As soon as my base polish dried I applied a coat of BYS black cracked polish and waited. I was so excited as I watched the effect appear on my nails. After this coat was dry too, I applied a coat of Seche Vite (which didn't seem to work well with this polish though as the cracked parts started falling off the next day). I will try with another top coat next time.



I really loved this manicure and I am definitely gonna try it with all sorts of differect polishes as based. It looks amazing and I got a lot of compliments :D

Ulta3 snazzle

How are you today?

I bring you more nail swatches from my awesome nail swap. Today I have this awesome silver foil called snazzle.
Generally I have a thing for foils, especially silver ones so this is definitely a colour I will wear a lot. Two coats without top coat and here is what it looks like.

Ulta3 Natural Spring & Spring Blossom swatches

Hello everyone ^_^/

I hope you're having a fab weekend.
Just a quick post from me today to show you a few swatches from the lovely polishes 'Chelle sent me. I started off with some pastel Ulta3 colours.

First up is Natural Spring, a lovely pastel pink. Opaque in two coats without topcoat.



The second colour is Spring Blossom, a lovely pastel yellow. The formula was a bit think but after waiting for the first coat to dry the second coat was easier to apply.



Both colours are two coats with base coat but without topcoat.
I am really liking both of these and I am planning to use them for layering and also as a base for nail art ^_^

Strawberry Choco Nails and an award

Good morning everyone ^_^/

It is a hot day here in Greece so I am going to share a summery manicure with you all today :D Remember the Etude House polish that I shared in my previous post? It was actually the base for this cute manicure. I have seen many sweets inspired manicures in Japanese nail magazines lately so I decided to do one too.



For the chocolate I used Essie Chocolate Kisses and I spiced things up a bit with heart shaped spangles.

Etude House LUCIDarling glittering Pink Jewel

Hello everyone ^_^/

August is finally here which means summer is in full swing and my vacation is drawing closer and closer yay!!!

The only thing I am not enjoying is the excruciating heat but oh well. Can't have it all I guess XD

So today I have for you swatches of a very pretty colour, Etude House glitter Pink Jewel from the LUCIDarling series. I ordered these in a batch a couple of months ago after hearing raving reviews from some of my Asian friends.

I have to admit that I was impressed. Application was excellent and the colour was super sparkly and opaque even with one coat. I still applied two for a full blown effect. Here it is, without topcoat.







Now I wouldn't really call this a glitter but the truth is that it sparkles a lot. The photos don't do it justice but I did the best I could to capture the effect.

I usually don't like pink on my nails but I really liked this one. I will be swatching more of the same series soon :D
